I've been thinking for days about what I was going to write next. Straying away from the repetitiveness of my life, I've decided to post a link to a website. Here it is:

If you had the energy to click on the link, you'd know it was about the West Memphis 3 case. I can't remember the exact source, but I heard about this case awhile back and decided to do a bit of research on my own. It's interesting to say the least; devastating to some. Personally, I think the men convicted of the crime are innocent. I hold strongly to that belief. I know there's others who disagree, and that's okay.


Here's a brief overview taken directly from the site:


Shortly after three eight-year-old boys were found mutilated and murdered in West Memphis, Arkansas, local newspapers stated the killers had been caught. The police assured the public that the three teenagers in custody were definitely responsible for these horrible crimes. Evidence? The same police officers coerced an error-filled "confession" from Jessie Misskelley Jr., who is mentally handicapped. They subjected him to 12 hours of questioning without counsel or parental consent, audio-taping only two fragments totaling 46 minutes. Jessie recanted it that evening, but it was too late— Misskelley, Jason Baldwin and Damien Echols were all arrested on June 3, 1993, and convicted of murder in early 1994. Although there was no physical evidence, murder weapon, motive, or connection to the victims, the prosecution pathetically resorted to presenting black hair and clothing, heavy metal t-shirts, and Stephen King novels as proof that the boys were sacrificed in a satanic cult ritual. Unfathomably, Echols was sentenced to death, Baldwin received life without parole, and Misskelley got life plus 40. For over 15 years, The West Memphis Three have been imprisoned for crimes they didn’t commit. Echols waits in solitary confinement for the lethal injection our tax dollars will pay for. They were all condemned by their poverty, incompetent defense, satanic panic and a rush to judgment.


It leaves me to question, "How can you convict three men of such a horrendous crime when there's nothing to back up the claims?" No motive; no evidence; a coerced confession. It just doesn't add up. How can they possibly use key witnesses that have been known to recant their stories after the trial?


What a pile of crap.


It really ticks me off that the judge keeps denying their requests, even though DNA tests are now present and do not link the three men to the murder scene. How is it even possible that they're still sitting in jail, one on death row, for something they obviously didn't commit?


As far as I'm concerned, there's absolutely no justice that's been commited here. The system is relying on 'supposed evidence' that surfaced back when the teenagers (now men) were first convicted and aren't bothering to take a look at the new evidence. It's nothing but absolute fabrications made by biased people who would rather see someone rot due to lack of conformity.

Anyway, I thought I'd make this a fairly brief post. I do check the website every now and then to see if there's any recent updates.
